I must say that we had a great July 4th. The food was excellent and the weather was perfect.

We had a weekend packed full of family and friends this week !!! Pete and Honey came up in their bus and stayed at a near by park. Mary came up from Little Rock, Kelli and Zack and Becky and her girls came from Texas! They are all so much fun!! They are girly girls,,, so I enjoy getting new hair tips and the latest fashion tips{not that I use them)!!! Got a pedicure this week!!! love that OPI cajun shrimp color.

On the 4th we took the house boat out and anchored down to watch the fireworks that night. A storm blew in with high winds and rain, but we waited it out.. I layed down and took a 2 hr nap,, the breeze was nice and cool the rain on the roof was so relaxing. It was perfect !!

On Sunday we had a Shrimp Boil at our house. Mary cookd so many woundrful things ! We had a feast all day long, then we boiled potatoes, corn and giant shrimp,, followed by home made ice cream!!!

Looking forward to the 4 th of July celebrations here in the twin lake area. We have family and friends hear to enjoy the beauty of the Ozarks. We will have lots of food drinks sun and fun. The yacht club will be together as well as friends and family. We will be watching the firework display from our boats,,in a cove at lake view. Hope all of you enjoy your celebrations as well......

my cancer update,,

 

To days Doctors appointments have come and gone and the news that I was expecting was true. I cant help but feel a little lost, its really not had a chance to sink in yet. However in the morning I have an appointment for a PET scan. I'm scheduled for a double mastectomy July 22!! I keep thinking I will wake up from this nightmare but instead it is becoming more real...

I cant bear to see the pain in my mothers eyes or the Questioned look on Eva Laurens face. Darrell is once again my rock that I lean on. Going thur it a second time doesn't make it any easier, if anything maybe a littler more difficult..

Thank you to all my friends and family for your support. Keep me and my family on your prayer list.

got up early expecting to go to work when the phone rang and the hospital called me off for the day, YES !!!,I went back to bed, Latter Darrell and I went to the houseboat and really enjoyed the cooler weather,,,,The high was 90 and breezy!!

This morning I woke up with that knot in the pit of my stomach.. Not again !! Could what I have feared the most be happening again??

YES, it is....

Monday I have an appointment with CARTI and with my Surgeon to discuss what options I have.. "Options" is such a mixed up word...choices, decisions, none of which I want to be facing right now.. I don't have the time to slow down and put my life on pause to focus on a disease.

Today I took a personal day off at work. I just don't have the heart to take care of patients right now. Can you say DEPRESSION ? I know this will pass and Ill get thru this one also.. until then I'm being selfish and staying home and enjoying my beautiful home and family..

My six month mammogram yesterday revealed calcification in a new area. What does that mean ? I'm afraid to say. My natural response is to jump to conclusions and think the worst. Right now I'm just waiting for the surgeon to give me a call.






I was at the hospital for 4 hours having a mammogram, ultrasound, and lab work. They ended up doing 6 mammograms and two ultrasound to make sure!! Then the Radiologist came in herself and did the final ultrasound and showed me the area and discussed the next step....... Right now I'm angry... Not knowing for sure isn't helping. Did I go thru 3 surgeries 6 months of chemotherapy and 40 radiation treatments for nothing????

Darrells update!!

 

Darrell's hand surgery went well on Wednesday. It took 2 hours for the surgery and 1 hour post op and then we were on our way back home. The hospital was so very nice and the people were so helpful..

Springfield was under sever heat advisory with the heat index of 105 !!!

We stopped in Branson and meet up with the gang for lunch.. Aunt Pat and Uncle James, Cecil and Sandy and mom and dad. We all ordered milk shakes, they were so good!! by the time we got home it was after 5pm. Darrell took pain meds but wasn't hurting to bad.

Now post op day one he is having more pain. His hand is in a big cast-like thing that he cant take off till he goes back to the Dr on July 9. That means that he cant get it wet on the 4 th of July... That will be very difficult for him to do !!!

Today I had my mamogram(again). Ill post on that later

Its been 7 weeks since Darrells accident with the table saw. We are headed to Springfield today for his surgery very early in the am..

He is so ready to get this done... hopefully the pain will stop.. he is so tired of hurting. The index finger has almost healed, and after they put in his artificial knuckle that can start healing... yea!!!

Say a prayer for us !!!
