Beautiful Bull Shoals Lake

Posted by Picasa

Today was such a gorgeous day. Darrell and I went out early this morning to relax and catch a few rays, before we knew it it was 6:30 and time to head home. The morning was quite and peaceful, just one of those that you don't want to end. I never dreamed that I would live in such a wonderful place and enjoy life so much. I'm surrounded with blessings. I am truly grateful !!

TRUE LOVE

True Love

It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am. I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound. While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease. As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now. I was surprised, and asked him, “And you still go every morning, even though she doesn't know who you are?” He smiled as he patted my hand and said, “She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is.”

I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arm, and thought, that is the kind of love I want in my life.

True love is neither physical, nor romantic.
True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been,
will be, and will not be.

Friday Night Fight at The Brick yard!!!

I loved all the signs!!!!!!!!!

Chuck, Crystal and Clinton

Last night we went to see our son compete in a fight.... He and his wife Brit are martial arts instructors and teach at their school, White Eagle Hapkiko, in Mt Home!!!! It was not our typical night out on the town but we were glad to see how well he did.. A few of the fights were a little rough(tough) I'm told! I love the defense part of martial arts, we should all be able to defend ourselves.

If anyone is interested in a self defence class just let us know,, they do a great job!!

Next time Ill be staying home and watching the grand babies!!! much more my style!

he looks so much like his dad!!!

Guess who got pulled over by the Police???

Tonight I got pulled over by the police!!!!! YES I crossed the YELLOW line!!! Mountain Home increased patrols tonight due to the holiday and the graduation of mountain Home High school. I told every one that we saw to be careful and wouldn't you know it.... I crossed the YELLOW line.....

Thank goodness this officer felt generous and could tell that I hadn't been drinking and gave me a warning.......(not to mention that he looked like he was 12)

So,drive safely no drinking and driving and have a safe Memorial Weekend

GONE TO SOON... NEVER TO BE FORGOTTEN!!!!!!

Jr you will remain in our hearts forever!!!

This past week we had a tragic event happen in our family... Jr took his own life!!! The devastation that it has caused his family is so unbelievable. Life has no guarantees! I have seen death this week more than I care to.. Being an RN I see it effect the older more often. Some people will hold on to what little bit of life they can,, even if it means laying on a hospital bed for weeks gasping for every breath.. When someone young and healthy chooses death over life it causes such strong emotions !! He was in his prime and had the world at his feet. What happened??

SPEECHLESS !!

JR's life here is over,, we will never know how his life could have been... we will never see his unborn children, hear them laugh or play,,,, he is gone,,,, it leaves us cold and empty....

This is not the answer... It is a permanent end to a Short term problem!!!!
If Jr were here today i bet he would say he wishes that he could come back...today the sun is shinning,,(not like the day that this happened)

I beg anyone that might have the thought of ending your life to really think!!! Contact someone!!!Dont do it!! STOP!!!

STOP!!!

A MOTHERS LOVE

Posted by Picasa

Today is the day that we celebrate Mothers Day!!The second Sunday of May usually.I looked thru many cards and poems to describe my mom but decided to tell you of a little about her thru her daughters eyes.... She is the the mother of three successful children..She worked very hard for us to have the things that we wanted. She was not the mom at the PTA.. She was the mom that was always there in our home, making sure that things were clean comfortable and we were taken care of..I never put on a shirt that wasn't ironed, no wrinkled collars would never do!!!She took pride in her home and her family..I never saw a dirty bathroom or walked on a dirty floor, the sheets were always fresh and clean and the house smelled nice and clean.

I never knew that their was instant potatoes or instant pudding, everything was made with love. She is strong and never complains about how she feels yet will always ask how you feel and how you are doing.. She is unselfish and caring. Thinking of her
family first..

She raised us in a Christian home that loved and respected God. She gave us a heratige that can never be taken away.. She taught me how to become a lady, a wife, and a mother...

Mom you are the greatest person in my life!!! Thank you for all your years of unconditional love!!!

A MOTHER'S LOVE

A Mother's love is something
that no on can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish
and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away . . .
It is patient and forgiving
when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking . . .
It believes beyond believing
when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation . . .
A many splendoured miracle
man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
of God's tender guiding hand.

what an emotional day

Today my baby daughter broke up from her first real boyfriend..young love can be so hard to overcome. I pray that she realizes that she has so much to look forward with her life and that now is not the time to focus on boys,,my heart hurts for her,, and we shed many tears together over this one!!!! Ill be right here for her every step of the way... caus im her MOM!!

The Race for the Cure Mt Home Arkansas

What an emotional night!!I knew that we were walking and raising money to help find a cure for cancer.. I was impressed at the great number of people that showed up to show their support, and to remember the ones that they have lost to cancer..Tears flowed as they called out hundreds of names that have died from cancer..
I was so glad that I was there as a survivor!!!! Darrell stopped by to make sure that i didn't need anything before he went home to rest his poor fingers...Chase ans Eva Lauren walked with ME during the candlelight ceremony,,,It was so very touching,, I'm so glad that my kids were there to show there support.
